3 Stars It’s pretty big
Over all I like the clamp it was quite a bit larger than I thought….I wanted to stick it in my small camera bag! I guess it probably did have the measurments on it…I was suprised!
4 Stars Pretty good deal all in all
First, this isn’t a Manfrotto, but it is a reasonable clamp at over half the cost. That’s the deal. Works great as a small flash clamp or for a small point and shoot camera. I don’t recommend using the “goose neck”, it makes the clamp top heavy. The ball head works very well on all Nikon flashes up to the SB-900. If you don’t want to drill a clamp (diy, I salute you), this isn’t a bad alternative.
4 Stars CLAMP IS GOOD
Good clamp, especially since you cannot find this sort of thing anywhere else.
The construction is not that great, but it is still a good thing to have.
3 Stars Decent extension arm, poor clamp…fine for light duty
Tried this out for in-car use, the spring in the clamp is really weak and slips easily. Arm has decent range of motion, but already has loosened up to the point that it only maintains a position inside a narrow range. Ball seat mount is best part. Overall, if you need a quick clamp to pretty much anything camera mount for static shots, or maybe an accessory mount, this should be fine.
5 Stars When You Don’t Have That Flat Surface
This is the only small tripod I could find that uses a `clamp’ for those times you cannot find a level surface. It can be clamped vertically to a post, door edge or even a tree, if necessary. The spring clamp is heavy duty, but has rubber pads to prevent any potential damage or scratching. You don’t always have a flat surface to film or photograph from. This also holds up to two pounds of weight which will work with most any newer model of camera (not older video cameras). The flexible steel neck makes just about any angle work and it will unscrew for easy packing. Sunpak always seems to have the most `cutting edge’ products; even simply ideas like this.

5 Stars Perfect
i have a regular Boden tripod that i typically use, but when i went hiking i didn’t want to carry my big tripod so i bought a Joby Zoom Gorillapod and this Ball Head. the Gorillapod is adequate, but this BH1 Ball Head really stands out. without this accessory, i would have been disappointed with the Gorillapod, but this is really well designed and implemented and it’s very easy to use. i am quite pleased with this purchase.
5 Stars Excellent ballhead for any tripod
This ballhead is made by Joby and marketed for Joby’s line of Gorillapod tripods. I bought it for use with my Gorillapod SLR-Zoom, but this also works very well with other tripods. It is crafted out of metal and has a good bit of heft to it. Definitely doesn’t have a cheap feel. Supports my 20D well. It is rated only for about 6 lbs. so watch how large of a lens you use with it.
5 Stars Perfect match for the SLR-Zoom
Bought this to add on to my SLR-Zoom Gorillapod. SIMPLY AMAZING!! Superb build quality! Another home run from Joby!
4 Stars Sturdy does what it says.
Not much to say, its exactly what it claims which is all i can ask. I do like the larger knob to lock in position. the level is an added bonus. i bought it to use with the gorilla-pod.

4 Stars So far so good
I got this tripod with the new Joby BH1 Ball Head as a set at Pardee’s Cameras (Sacramento, CA) and only had time to make a few experiments at home. So this is a preliminary review. Since I got both the Gorillapod and the ballhead, I included it in this review. Both Gorillapod GP3 and Ballhead are supposed to be able to hold 6.6lb. I set the tripod with a Nikon D90 (22 oz./620g) and my heaviest lens, the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM (16.4 oz/465g), as a typical table tripod and found it to be quite stable. The legs didn’t bulk. The surface was a glass top, and the rubber feet held pretty well. Then I tested it with the legs wrapped around the back of a chair, and although the joints are somewhat stiff (which we probably want them to be) it was easy to get the entire ensemble stable.
The Joby BH1 Ballhead itself seems well manufactured, all metal, and operates smoothly, with a (discrete) quick release plate. It allows 360
