User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Price and Power
This Battery has lasted longer than my previous batteries for my other dslr which was the bp-511 and I had used it for about 3 hours shooting video before i had to switch

5 Stars Good in Quality
I bought this production a month ago. After charging, I found this battery pack is really worth to owning for its good quality.

5 Stars Great battery
No complaints here. Works just like the normal battery from Canon. A bit pricey, but after reading reviews of leaking issues with generic brands, I figured an extra $15-20 was worth my expensive camera.

5 Stars Great Battery at a Great Price
Great Battery.. keeps a good long charge when shooting pictures or video. I’m a wedding videographer and we recently switched from Shooting from Canon’s A1’s to shooting all 5D Video. Might sound crazy but its awesome! I can usually shoot video all day with only two of these battery’s with no need to recharge. Every once in a while I’ll need to use the recharged one, but usually I’m good with just two cycles.

Oh.. and there are a lot of bad reviews on these batteries because Amazon used to charge a way to much for these batteries, but the price has come down now and they are a great deal!

4 Stars Expensive model-specific battery but does the job well
The battery itself is pretty amazing – not only have I gotten over 1500 RAW photos off of one battery with some intermittent videos and was fine. I bought a second battery to put in the Canon BG-E6 Battery Grip for Canon 5D Mark II Digital SLR and how I can literally shoot for days straight without bringing a charger. What the truly awesome part is that I can view battery status in the LCD including shutter clicks.

What’s bothersome is that with every new camera, there’s a new battery. I’m sure that with each new camera, there’s unique power requirements. However, one of the things that bothers me is as consumers and as an industry, that we’re not doing what we can in order to reduce the amount of waste and allow reuse between camera models. When the 5D Mark II, demand was high and supply was low, and it led to price gouging. I’m sure that when the Canon 7D comes out that it will have a unique battery as well… it’s just frustrating.
