Seagull SC-5 hot shoe adapter is designed to connect all standard shoe flashes to the proprietary Sony Alpha / Minolta Maxxum hot shoes. 1 Star Doesn’t work
I bought one to use on my Minolta Dimage Z1 and have yet to get it to work. The problem I suspect is with the camera as the flash will fire when I touch the correct copntacts on the adaptor. I wanted to use an external flash that I already have rather than buy a new one. May just buy another camera of another brand.

4 Stars Small, cheap, effective
Sony do a lot of things write when it comes to DSLR, but that Minolta hot-shoe attachment can be a real pain when you’re working in a studio and trying to fire off a bunch of studio flashes.

The Sony answer comes at a hefty price… this version is simpler, smaller, cheaper and just as effective. Simple to use, universally accepted (so far) and small (a previous, borrowed version had cut into my cheek) this was as good a buy as I’ve made this year

3 Stars didn’t work with my flash
I was trying to use an older flash and it wouldn’t work with it. I returned it because since I had to buy a flash, I will get a minolta compatible one.

Cost me a total of $13.00 shipping because I had to pay both ways.

1 Star Doesn’t work with A100
The hot shoe appears to fit, but neither the PC terminal nor hot shoe will fire two different standard flashes. Might be OK with automated flashes, but my old Vivitar’s don’t fire.

The Seagull SC-5 Hotshoe adapter works just as well as the Sony/Minolta adapter. For a whole lot less money.

I really like this bag; usually i carry my E-5xx with the 40-150mm mounted, and the 14-42mm, still i have space for a flash, a mini tripod, three filters, the caps of the lens and camera, three extra batteries, sun blocker, and more if i want. I have it with me all the time when i’m shooting outdoors, it doesn’t bother me. Just think three lenses don’t feat in this bag, so don’t expect to carry all your gear here.

Good product, small but it holds my E-520 with 50mm F2.0 Macro lens attached and two kit lenses, 14-42mm and 40-150mm. the pockets hold lens cap and CF media. Has a good build quality. For the price it is a good buy.

I use this with my Pantex DSLR. It fit all I have.

1. Camera body with 18-55mm lens attached.

2. 50 mm fixed lens.

3. 50-200 mm lens.

4. Len hood.

5. Battery charger.

I also put some sd card and data link in the front pocket.

4 Stars Great bag but, a bit small
I do like this bag but, I feel like I will outgrow fairly quick. It is great if you want to tote around the camera and 2 lenses but, this wont fit much more. It fits memory card, extra battery, a cleaning kit but, that’s about it. If you have an external flash and remotes and other things it wont fit. I even feel 2 lenses it’s a little jammed in there. So, might have to get a larger one later on. It’s great if you are going to travel though and for the price I think it is still useful!

5 Stars Olympus Evolt Camera Bag
The bag was exactly as advertised…. small, but perfect for travel. The compartment holds the camera plus 2 lens, charger, USB cable, etc. There is an adjustable shoulder strap in addition to a hand held strap (carry it like a purse). Quite functional and secure with 2 snap locks. Would definitely recommend.

For those who have bought a Canon digital camera with an external flash shoe, this is a very useful adjunct. Of course if one has the camera with which this unit is fully compatible, it is essential to have this. I have tried shooting objects 30′ away upping the ASA to 200 and got excellent results which no in-built flash can give.

Generally satisfactory, for the price. Does not rotate or tilt, preventing relfected light photography. Allows TTL phoyography, which is an advantage.

4 Stars canon speedlite 220EX – a suitable accessory for my S5IS
I purchased this item from Amazon for my Powershot S5IS two months back. The purpose of my going for this is to substitute the use of the built-in flash in case I resort to use the Wide Angle Lense attachment. This extenal flash works considerably well for this purpose. Remember I used the word ” Substitute “. It is, because the EFFECTIVE RANGE of this flash is little farther than the built-in flash. The maximum range of the built-in flash is 17ft. The maximum range of this external flash is specified as 51ft. But to my experience it is not more than the half way i.e. about 24-25ft. Any how, it justifies my saying it a ” Substitute “. When the Wide Angle attachment is used the built-in flash can not be used, as it gives a hemispherical shadow on the lower side of the picture due the 58mm size. Hence, it is suggestive to have an exterrnal flash to substitute the built in flash. While using the Wide Angle attachment and the external flash I observed some times the focus and the white balance changes. Hence, one has to make adjustments for these two things before shooting. Over all the external flash serves as a good substitute for the built-in flash of the S5IS. I have taken some beautiful pictures during a marriage ceremony in India a few days ago. I am satisfied with the performance of this flash for the purpose I needed it.

Canon speedlite 220EX is a great small flash for my Canon G-10 and back up flash for my Canon 430 EX….Great flash for the money….Love it…
