3 Stars camera bag
much too small for my use–perfect for one camera, flash and an extra lens–very well made–

5 Stars Excellent Bag…better than expected!!
This bag has received some excellent reviews, and everything I wanted to say about this bag has already been said by others, so I will keep this short. I was quite impressed with the construction of this bag. The quality of the materials and workmanship was better than expected. The bag fits my Sony Alpha 350 with battery pack and Sigma 18-250mm lens attached perfectly. It has enough room remaining to store my Sony SAL 1118 (11-18mm lens) along with the Sony HVL-F56AM (which is a large flash). There is also enough room to fit extra batteries, lens filters and some cleaning supplies. I bought this bag to act as my “day bag” for walking around town when my larger sling bag is just not practical. For this, the Tamrac Explorer 2 is perfect.

4 Stars Decent Camera Bag
This is a decent camera bag. It holds all the camera equipment I have so far. I have a Nikon D60, SB-600, 18-55mm lens, a 55-200mm lens on camera and a lens hood. All these fit in the main compartments and my spare battery and cleaning stuff fits in the front pocket. It is a decent buy and I would recommend it if you have about the same amount of camera equipment.

3 Stars Camera Bag was too big
This camera bag was a little too big for my Nikon D80 with lens attached. I couldn’t put the camera in lens down (as the illustration showed) because I felt there wasn’t enough support from the form dividers. Putting it in camera down made it awkward getting the camera out. I tried putting the camera in sideways, but I couldn’t get the form divides positioned properly to support the lens.

5 Stars Roomier than Explorer 1 (Tamrac 5501) for a DSLR with extra lenses
I’ve been using an Explorer 1 to carry a Nikon D40x+lens, two extra lenses, and a flash. Everything “kind of” fits, but the bag’s overstuffed, so the camera sticks up above the zipper. The bag closes, but bulges, with the LCD pressed against the top flap. A Nikon D90 is just a teeny bit taller & wider, so it sticks up even more… too much more for my peace of mind.

The Explorer 2 is just a little bigger in all dimensions than the Explorer 1… big enough to comfortably hold all the same equipment for the D90, and the camera does not protrude. The “2″ also comes with a pair of horizontal dividers to let you stack things on top of each other, on either side of the camera. Getting to a lower lens might be a little challenging, and my gear doesn’t need these; but they could be useful for some people.

This Explorer 2 is only $5 more than the Explorer 1, and I wish I’d gotten it in the first place, only because it’s roomier. The construction and extra pockets are the same for both bags: excellent workmanship, good protection, and places for lots of little things.

5 Stars Very Good product
This is a marvelous product. Everything I needed and wanted for my camara. Very good for trips and protection. Anyway I thought it was bigger because in the photo looks bigger.

1 Star A little to small
This bag must be for a little Kid, I think they took a picture of a different bag because there isn’t anyway you can get all that in the bag I recieved the camera parely fits, much less with anymore gear. I must say I was really disappointed. So I can’t honestly give a the Tamarac 5273 Expedition 3 SLR Photo Backpack a good rateing I have other products of there’s that are good but this is the first that I have ever recieved and felt so decieved. I’m Sorry but this was a bad deal.

4 Stars Great bad, feels very safe to my photo equipment into it
4 stars because it’s really tight. But I can handle it. Currently I put into it Nikon D90 with 18-105 VR attached, SB600 flash, batteries charger and theres still space for another 2 lenses(small ones). Front pocket is nice to put your wallet, memory cards etc.. It’s weather proof, so I don’t have to worry about getting wet if caught under the rain, it’s a small abd so the advantage of it is I can take it with me wherever I want to, biking, walking etc. I fell safe with this bag knowing my stuff won’t get damaged, its pads are really thick and the bag itself feels VERY well made. If you plan on carrying more equipment than go for a bigger one, but for my needs it’s a perfect size and the price, no one can beat it.

5 Stars Another way to use this bag…
One review for this product mentioned that this bag is too large for a point-and-shoot but too small for a SLR camera. That may be true, but I am using mine to store my 20x super-zoom point-and-shoot, my HD camcorder, and my little 3x zoom Fuji camera. That way, I always have the choice to grab the little camera for great indoor shots at higher ISOs, or the camcorder (rather than shooting sub-par video with my super-zoom), or my super-zoom for great outdoor shots. Being able to keep all my gear with me in this one bag is great for travel and makes this bag very versatile for my needs.

5 Stars Perfect Little Bag for Nikon D3000
Just bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D3000, and this bag to store it in and I couldn’t be happier. It’s light and compact, just the right size for the camera, extra zoom lens, and there’s even room for my back up point and shoot. If you’re a pro with a lot of equipment, look for something bigger, but for someone just starting out, this is outstanding. Everything is snug, but what’s best is the inside is reconfigurable to customize for your equipment.

5 Stars Great starter bag
This bag is great. It’s sturdy, protects our camera well, has lots of pockets for storage of extras, and is easy to carry and lightweight. It is small, though, which is perfect for us. We just have the camera body and one lens (a Canon Rebel XS with the kit lens – 18-55mm). The camera fits snugly in the bag with the lens attached, and the case would probably fit one more lens and a flash. Right now, we use the extra space in the bag to fit our point-and-shoot, which is pretty handy. We also have our memory cards, battery pack, and USB cords for the camera stored in the front pocket. If you’ve got any more than just the basics, though, you’ll want a bigger bag. I suggest going to the Tamrac website, where they have all the specs on all their bags, plus diagrams with about how much each bag will fit. We did that, and ended up with the perfect bag for what we need!

5 Stars Nice Camera Bag
Nice construction. I use it for my Nikon D40. Holds charger unit and a couple filters. Don’t expect room for another lens.

3 Stars A little bit too small for Nikon D200
This bag is in good quality, but a little bit too samll for Nikon D200 or similar. If you have just one lens with your camera, it should be ok. However, if you have more than one lens and a speedlight, choose a different one.

4 Stars The Explorer 2 (Tamrac 5502) is roomier and costs only $5 more
I’ve been using an Explorer 1 to carry a Nikon D40x+lens, two extra lenses, and a flash. Everything “kind of” fits, but the bag’s overstuffed, so the camera sticks up above the zipper. 5 Stars Nice Bag – Perfect for Nikon D40!
This bag is the perfect go anywhere companion to the Nikon D40. Small enough to grab and go – I looked at the next size smaller, but based on reviews chose the Explorer 1. It is the perfect size to carry camera w/ 18-55 lens attached, a flash on one side (I use the SB 400), charger & cables or zoom lens on the other. Front pocket is perfect for extra batteries memory, etc. Excellent quality!

5 Stars Love it, though some adjustment is required.
I spent days looking for a sling bag before I bought this one. I travel light, but have a Canon 5D, plus a 28-135mm lens and a 70-300mm telephoto lens. I wanted a sling pack to slide my small amount of other personal stuff into while traveling in (potentially shady) areas (and non-shady ones).

Verdict: I love this bag. It is so awesome. The hammock is so cool. But there are some other things to consider:

1. It is going to be very annoying to constantly stop, slide the bag around and take photos. The bag needs some breaking in at the beginning; it is very stiff (and that is a GOOD thing). If buying it for a vacation, take it out for a romp BEFORE your trip to soften it up and get used to the maneuvers required to load and unload your camera. I only say that because it has an usual design.

2. The height of my 5D (from the bottom, set down, to the top near where the flash module would hook into) seems uncomfortable fit-wise into the hammock compartment. I am not sure if an EOS 1- or 5D with one of those battery pack grippers would be able to fit into this compartment. My 5d JUST fits. However, a camera with a full telephoto lens might fit in here without disassembly. There is a lot of space in the hammock for a longer lens than my 28-135mm lens.

3. In order to use this, it is really optimal to remove any other protection: ie, camera armor (which I had) and the strap. To keep the strap on while storing the camera in the bag is to add serious and repetitive frustration to your life when you unload- and load the camera back into the bag. There is just not space for the strap in the compartment.

4. There is limited space for much else if you have a telephoto & default lens. The small side pocket has space for my mini tripod, my folded strap and a few lens caps. The flat pocket over the camera hammock fits something flat, like a manual and some papers or whatever. There are a few other nooks and crannies but don’t expect this to double as a backpack for personal items if you have a lot of stuff. It will fit a camera, a manual, a mini tripod, some other various doo-dads, 2 lenses (one on, one off), and a small variety of whatever else.

Regardless of the above items, I think this is a fantastic bag and is totally worth the money. I hope it lasts long enough to carry my camera to the Southwestern USA, Denmark, Norway, Bermuda and throughout my winter of snowshoeing and winter sports! The padding is awesome and it is very sturdy. When this bag dies, I hope I can buy another one. Perfect for an on-the-go photographer.

4 Stars Perfect for travel
Fits my Canon 5DMarkII with a 28-80 lens attached in the clever hammock compartment. Room for 70-300 lens AND a 420Ex flash in side pouch, and a couple of filters, etc. in the small front pouch. Attaching a Canon monopod to the outside, while slightly awkward, works well enough. Could probably fit a couple more pouches on it somewhere, but at some point you start entering backpack territory, I guess. I really like this sling.

4 Stars Almost perfect fit for FZ28
The upside: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 fits perfectly into this bag (lens hood not attached). The bag adds minimally to the dimensions of the camera. You can put the hood with the hood adapter upside down on the bottom of the bag and the camera still fits in perfectly (the camera lens goes into the wide side of the hood).

I’m giving the exact dimensions of FZ28 to help you judge if this bag would be good for your particular camera: the length is 4.25″ including the lens cap and the viewfinder eyepiece (the latter protrudes 3/8″ behind the back wall of the camera); the width is 4.5″ (not including the tiny strap eyelets); the height is 3″ almost exactly.

The downsides: Side pockets are too tight to hold almost anything except for a SD card in a tiny protective case it usually comes in. I think it’s a design flaw. The FZ28 battery measuring 1.75″x1.375″x0.75″ fits in a pocket only with certain effort and since the pocket is too tight it bulges inside the bag. As a result, the camera already would not fit in as comfortably (especially with the hood inside). Besides, you would not be able to take the battery out of the pocket while the camera is in the bag. Of course there is no room for a charger and other accessories.

The shoulder strap has no padding and is made out of rather coarse woven nylon. When you wear the bag on your shoulder make sure it does not rub against your skin – it might irritate or chafe it.

Tamrac has a compatibility chart where one can find recommended Tamrac bags for most of popular digital cameras. I could not put the URL here, but go to tamrac site and you’ll easily find the “Digital Camera Fit Chart”. Ironically, 33xx (Aero Zoom) series bags are not listed there (may be because they are “new”).

4 Stars Tamrac 3320 Camera Case
Fits my new Panasonic camera great. Helped keep it dry when we got splashed while on a motor boat. Rugged yet easy to use. Two small pockets on either side for small accessories.
