4 Stars Cheap and easy to fix when it breaks
I purchased this remote one year ago and have used it many times. It works as advertised and didn’t give me any problems until about 3 months ago. The camera would still get the half press signal but wouldn’t trip the shutter. A quick removal of two screws shows how the remote works and after bending one of the contacts it started working again. Even though the remote quit working it was easy to fix and is less then 1/4th the cost of the Sony model. Even if you’re worried about reliability you’re still better of buying a couple of these than the Sony. I’d still buy it if I had to do it over again.

5 Stars cheap and it works!
Great product, and it works with my sony a350. Love it, for the price!

4 Stars Good for the Price
I got this for an animated music video project to be shot on a Sony A300. From some of the reports I’d read I was worried about it lasting long enough for our shoot, since time was of the essence and yet, of course, we didn’t have the money to spring for a more expensive model (very, very low budget music video hehe). The connection to the camera never gave us any problems at all, it fit quite well. It seemed to be quite reliable and the triggers worked perfectly for the first couple of weeks. The unit still works, but seems to not be quite as consistent now when the trigger is slid to continuous mode, it will occasionally stall for a few moments during shots. We will probably use it for more projects, but for reliabilities sake we will probably get a different model remote if we get a better paying project. Still though, for just about $12, this item saved our a**!

3 Stars Difficult to connect, but works
This cord looks like a professional, molded, product. It does work, but it is difficult to connect and doesn’t make a very good connection. For occasional use, it’s fine. If you rely on your tripod, and use a remote cable all day, spend the extra for the OEM item.

5 Stars Good value
Quick delivery and works perfectly. I did not have any issues with the fit of the connector with my A200 and it seems to be fairly well built. At a fifth of the price of the official remote this is a great product.

3 Stars SOFTWARE MISSING A SIMPLE OPTION, but very Happy with D5000
Just got my Camera, it’s great. Amazing pics when compared to my point and shoot. I still have alot to learn about it but I am very dissapointed in the transfer software. My old point and shoot Canon has Zoombrowser software which easily transfers your pics to your computer and organizes the file folders by the date the picture was taken…. Awsome, easy to find stuff. The Nikon software’s only option that is close is to organize the files by the date you transfer them to your computer and putting the date the picture was taken in the file name (for each picture). IT works so so if you tranfer every few days… but if you go on a holiday for 2 weeks and come home to put a few hundred pics on your computer, well then there will be one folder with all the pics in it with only the file name to indicate the date. The only way to organize them after that is manually :(

COME ON NIKON this in not rocket science, it’s a simple option that needs to be programmed.

I am looking to make my Nikon compatible with the Canon software or use another program.

Camera gets 5 star rating

Software gets 1 stars.

5 Stars Nikon is a legend
Yet another champion from Nikon. I love this camera. Light, easy to use, great help function and never the less I checked it as soon as it arrived and it does not fall under any of the recalls. I think amazon either depleted the stock of recalled ones or got them exchanged. I received mine on September 21st. Go Nikon!!! Very happy with this purchase :)

5 Stars Love it!
I am in love!! I have been looking at purchasing this camera for a while now. I tried it out at my local wolf camera but, it was cheaper through Amazon. I was hesitating to buy it since I heard of the recall but, I read in a forum that Amazon looked through their stock and eliminated the cameras that fell into the recall. I took the plunge and I bought it and as soon as I received it I checked if in fact it was recall free and it was! I have been snapping away since. It has great image quality and it is fairly easy to use. You do have to take a little time to read the manual and figure out where everything is in the menu but, I think it is worth it. Love the kit lens. I really have nothing negative to say, I’m an amateur photographer and this camera is just perfect!

5 Stars Camera of my dreams
I finally made an impulse purchase and bought the camera of my dreams.I have been saying for years that I am going to upgrade my camera because I would really like to get more into photography, its been a passion of mine for years. So yesterday it happened.Nikon makes the best digital products on the market and this one is no exception.Easy to manuever and the color photos are brillant which I love because landscape scenary is what I am into.I love this product and I recommend it to anyone!

1 Star Nikon deviating from making great cameras
I am extremely disappointed that Nikon has decided to thrown everything into the camera body.

If I wanted to get a camera that did video, I’d buy a video camera. A camera with better zoom, better handling comfort, ability to record long periods of time.

Video on NIKON SLR is not good, it does not have the focusing of a traditional video camera. How bout watching a video where everything in the background is blurry? But that is not the point.

I want a semipro or cheaper camera made by a company that is dedicated to auto focus speed, better sensors, faster photo processing, etc. Id rather see Nikon put more effort in making extreme zoom lenses cheaper than fool around with video. What happened with the additional clear pixel sensor that Kodak developed a couple years ago? Why isn’t Nikon jumping on that?

good grief Nikon..are you giving up on making a great camera?

You still have a long ways to go on the CAM. There are too many CAM 1000s out there. How about CAM 5000,,,let make some progress instead of stalling with stupid video additions.

Maybe Nikon can put the following into the camera as well:

itunes

3G internet access

a taser

text messaging

and a compartment for a raincoat

yah that will be a nice DSLR! NOT!

5 Stars Works exactly as I expected
I bought this remote to use for long exposures with my D60. It has one button which does exactly what you’d expect — opens and/or closes the shutter. Two minutes after I opened the package I was taking my first test shots, and that was only because I had to find the right settings on my camera. As some other reviews have pointed out, the remote has to be in line of sight with your camera’s sensor in order to work, but that is no great inconvenience for my needs.

5 Stars Great remote
Hi I have been taking pics for about 5 months now with a nikon D60, and just bought this remote and the first one they send was not working, but i simply requested a new one and the next day had one in my house and was working good, return service was perfect no problem at all…happy with the remote, go and get it for fun pics…

5 Stars Love it!
I bought this because it is so hard to get babies to laugh when they can’t see you…they will just stare at the camera and that’s about it. With this remote I just frame the shot and then go play with my son…when he smiles or starts laughing I just click the remote and I have the shot. Try doing that with a point and shoot digicam!

5 Stars This thing is AWESOME!!!
I love this little remote. It has come in very handy while my hubby is deployed ;) I don’t like the fact that the camera doesn’t save the setting to use the remote, but that’s not this product’s fault lol. Very Happy with my purchase!

5 Stars Simple to use, does as it states
I use this with my D60 and within a few seconds I had things working great. Turned the camera to accept the remote and I was away. I have not had an issue yet with distance. I plan to use it more and more for the “family” pictures. Also looking at doing some stop motion. No longer I fall to the touching and slight shifting of the camera. The remote takes care of it.
